In recent years, rotary cutout tools have soared in popularity, due mainly to a series of television infomercials promoting one brand. Anyone know a safe way to cut plastic lattice without using a power tool? Circular saws make me nervous?

Hacksaw that has the blade extended to cut between the holes (not bowed ) should work. Black and Decker has come out with a small electric ZIP saw that not too overpowering too.

For using a hand tool certainly a hacksaw will work, but I offer this as well.

A fine blade “Back Saw” much like what’s used in a miter box. Some are sold without the support “spine” allowing no angleing as you cut. The width/depth of the blade may offer a bit more straight line control.

Line the PVC with a straight edge and pen/pencil and cut at a level that’s comfortable for you, supported in some way.
