Blade for cutting 3/4″ plexiglass?
What type of blade, for a tablesaw, do I need to cut 3/4″ plexiglass cleanly?

Suggestion by life_loverfl
You need a very fine tooth blade so the glass won’t chip and break. Be sure to hold the glass down firmly so it doesn’t bounce around while you’re cutting it.

Suggestion by impala400sb
ive used a sabre saw many times with success. clamp a straight edge on the plexi and use a counter top blade so the teeth don’t blow out the bottom. hope this helps

Suggestion by Bill F
If you are going to cut it on a table saw, run it through from the back of the saw or turn the blade around, using the back of the blade will keep it from chipping the plexi.

Suggestion by Mike A
put the blade in the saw backwards
seriously!

What type of saw is best for cutting wood, plastic, etc.?
Is it a hacksaw, one of those Christmas tree cutting saws, etc.?

Suggestion by Allan Wilkins
Go to Home Depot and get a “tool box saw” They’re rather short and have very sharp teeth. They will cut anything but metal. Cost about $ 15.00

A hacksaw (coarse blade) could be used on plastic, but not wood. A carpenters’ saw would be used on wood.

Power saws are always the most efficient, but of course it depends on what type of cuts you are doing. Are you ripping (cutting length ways) wood/plastic or are you crosscutting (cutting perpendicular to the grain)? The other item you need to consider is how big/small is the material that you are wanting to cut? I would recommend a circular saw and/or a jigsaw for most simple cuts that don’t have to be very accurate. If you need the cuts to be accurate, I recommend a table saw and/or a miter (compound for two angles at the same time) saw. Having said this, all you need to do now is use the right type of saw blades for the material that you are cutting.
NOTE: Power saws are dangerous, especially table saws. BE VERY CAREFUL!! They take off fingers faster than you can blink…

Hello!
Razor saw is best.Razor saws are a type of back saw, which includes finely-pitched crosscut teeth. These hand saws contain disposable/replaceable blades. There are various benefits associated with the usage of razor saws. First and foremost, the benefit of using these hand saws is that the presence of the thin blades allows them to cut soft metal, plastic or wood with a very small kerf, maintaining a neat and clean edge on both sides of the cut. Used with more teeth per inch, makes these saws a perfect alternative for fine inlay work on instruments or inlaid dollhouse furniture, railroad cars, track and plastic airplane kits. Most of these hand saws cut only on the pull stroke. However, you can also find a huge assortment of razor saws with replaceable/removable blades which can also be used for push or pull strokes.

How to remove fiberboard subfloor/underlayment?
I have a fiberboard subfloor, on top of linoleum, on top of wood floors. I’m trying to get to the wood floors. The linoleum is coming off really easily, but the subfloor is such a pain! What can I use to get rid of it, other than hammer and chisel? Is there a special tool of some kind>

Suggestion by bassman_196531
Get ready for some hard work. Often these particle board sub floors are glued and stapled every six inches. I have removed several of them and it’s hard work. I usually use a circular saw with an old carbide tipped blade with the depth set just enough to get through the particle layer. Wear safety glasses and don’t worry about the staples. Cut across to make strips about 6 inches wide. If the flooring is glued then use a 16 inch wonder bar and drive the short end under and pry up. If you are lucky you can get some sizable pieces to come up. If the material wasn’t glued down a steel flat mouth shovel will take it up quickly. Just jam the edge of the shovel under the edge and pry up. (make sure you have a sturdy shovel)

Again if it was glued there will be bits left behind, when most is gone you can clean this up with a belt sander and coarse belt.

Good Luck!
