Problem with Chraftsman table saw, Saw comes to almost a stand still cutting dado’s. I heard normal for Sears
I have cut Dado’s on Delta’s and one must slow down, but with the chraftsman, even at a crawl, it is almost stalling out. I am talking about 1/8 inch X 1/8 inch dado. Has anyone had this problem. I know how fast one can cut dado, this is way too slow.

are you using an extension cord? that does what you are talkin about.

takes more oower to cut dados may need to gear down your saw if it is not a direct drive

you should use dewalt table saws. it should not slow down with a 1/8 x 1/8 dado. besides craftsman is kind of crappy. take your saw back.

Most any saw will cut an 1/8″ “dado”. Is the belt slipping?, is the blade sharp? Is the blade nut tight? Do you have the blade installed correctly. If the blade is backwards, it won’t cut very well. Don’t laugh, I’ve been using a table saw for 30 years and I’ve done that on occasion.

Set our blade shallow and take a few passes increasing the blade height slightly each pass.
need more info on your saw to answer the question, what’s the model?
The motor is too small for what you want to do, or you have too small wire extension cord. Use a 14 guage extension no longer than 25 feet. If the motor is too small, slow down the feed and it will do just fine. Good luck
You are doing something wrong I have been using a craftsman table saw for thirty plus years and have never had a problem cutting dado’s in red oak or walnut or any wood. I have cut dado’s as wide as 3/4 inch in a single pass with no problem. I believe the problem might be with the skill of the user in this case.
